The 42 ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application built for educational and entertainment purposes. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
2. Age Requirement — COPPA Notice
The 42 is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you may not use The 42.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us at the address below.
For users between 13 and 17 years of age, we encourage parental involvement and awareness. This app contains references to real-world court cases and legal concepts adapted for educational use.
3. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name you choose. You may use an anonymous display name.
Onboarding data: We collect an optional age range, country, and legal background level that you provide at setup. This is used for analytics and product improvement only.
Gameplay data: We record which cases you have completed, your scores, energy usage, coins earned, and items purchased in The Bookstore.
Purchase data: In-app purchases are processed exclusively through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details.
Device information: We collect basic device identifiers and operating system information for crash reporting and analytics.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
— Provide and improve the game experience
— Save your progress and purchases across devices
— Process in-app purchases
— Send you notifications (only if you grant permission)

5. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send local push notifications to remind you when your energy has refilled. These notifications are scheduled on your device and do not involve transmission of personal data to our servers.
You may disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
6. Third-Party Services
Supabase: We use Supabase for authentication and cloud database storage. Your game data is stored on Supabase servers. Supabase is GDPR-compliant and processes data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob: If advertising is enabled in your version of the app, we use Google AdMob. AdMob may use advertising identifiers to deliver relevant ads. You may opt out of personalised ads through your device settings.
Apple / Google: In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google, as applicable. Their respective privacy policies govern that processing.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as you maintain an account with us. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
